"Every fairytale needs a good old-fashioned villain. You need me, or you’re nothing.”
"Sherlock" Star Andrew Scott comes out as gay
There were rumors for a long time. Now, the Irish actor Andrew Scott (37) has spoken for the first time about his homosexuality.
When he was looking for a suitable video that should help him to get a Russian accent, he came across a speech by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The translation of Putin’s remarks were “shocked” him, Scott said in an interview with the British newspaper “Independent”.
He also added: “Mercifully, these days people don’t see being gay as a character flaw. But nor is it a virtue, like kindness. Or a talent, like playing the banjo. It’s just a fact.”
Besides “Sherlock” Scott is also set to appear in a gay comedy drama film “Pride”. Filming started in October. The movie centres around a group of LGBT activists who try to raise money to support the families of striking miners during the summer of 1984.
